Eireka  proudly donated a total of $25,000 to the Australian Drought Relief Appeal. The funds were shared equally between Buy a Bale and the We’re For The Bush Appeal.  The presentations to the drought relief organisations were made by company Director, James Fitzpatrick after Eireka pledged to donate $1000 from the sale of every machine from 1 March – 30 April 2014 towards the drought relief appeal.

Buyabale.com.au Campaign Coordinator Charles Alder  accepted the donation from Eireka, Buy a bale is an organisation set up to assist communities in drought by delivering hay and other essential items to farmers who have no feed for their cattle, with over 50,000 bales of hay being delivered in the last 5 months alone to over 420 farmers. As drought continues to ravage 80% of Queensland and almost 50% of New south Wales, buy a bale have received overwhelming community support on their facebook page and with local fundraising events around the country. Farmers who require assistance have the facility to easily register on their website www.buyabale.com.au, for upcoming hay and resource distributions .

The Salvation Army accepted the donation as the recipients of the We’re For The Bush Appeal, the campaign has currently raised $1.4 million and much needed awareness for communities in NSW experiencing hardship associated with the prolonged dry conditions.Donations are being transferred to IGA & CRT Country Store vouchers for farmers to purchase food and fodder.  The Salvation Army, through it’s Rural Chaplaincy Service and network of regional officer and volunteers are meeting with farmers to examine ways they can offer assistance, as well connecting with farmers on field days and setting up  distribution points in community welfare centres. Despite some rain in recent months, follow up rain is essential, financial hardship still remains and effects the greater community all significantly impacted by the drought.  Farmers requiring assistance are encouraged to contact the Salvo Care Line on  1300 363622.
